#JusticeForMaud

Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, was shot and killed while jogging in Brunswick, GA by two white men on Feb. 23. These two men, a father and son, claimed they believed Ahmaud to be a burglar. The footage of the attack has since been released, two months later. (Warning: it is graphic in nature). Despite this chilling evidence of a point-blank attack on a defenseless man, no charges or arrests have been made of the shooters. We are asking you to join the Peace & Conciliation Project in demanding justice for Ahmaud. These demands work. As a result of previous efforts, the case will now go to grand jury. However, Georgia will not be convening grand juries until June 12. Meanwhile, bowling alleys, tattoo parlors, and barbershops are fully open under Governor Kemp’s orders. But the suspected murderers of a Black man are free until further notice. We must make noise to change this.

Below are recommended action items:

SIGN the petition at www.runwithmaud.com to demand the Dept. of Justice and FBI investigate and charge Gregory and Travis McMichael for this hate crime. By signing the petition, it will also send emails to every official that has the power to issue charges and arrest warrants for Ahmaud’s killers.

CALL 770.800.0689 to be connected to the offices that have the power to:

  1. Bring federal hate crime charges against the shooters;

  2. Appoint a special independent prosecutor to the case; and

  3. Immediately charge and arrest the McMichaels in the death of Ahmaud Arbery.

Respectfully demand that these three steps be taken immediately.

MAKE NOISE all over social media demanding justice. Use hashtags #irunwithmaud, #justiceforahmaud, #runformaud. Public opinion is a powerful tool. Use it.
