About the event

Martin Luther King, Jr. described the “Beloved Community” as a society where “caring and compassion drive political policies that support the worldwide elimination of poverty and hunger and all forms of bigotry and violence. At its core, the 'Beloved Community' is an engine of reconciliation.”

Today, many of us are experiencing grief, worry, fear, and trepidation about the state of affairs in our country and world, particularly in relation to the never-ending cycle of poverty, hunger, bigotry, and violence. We may feel physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted, and even feel a bit of resignation. Mother Theresa once said, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

Please join us on Saturday, March 9th to remember we belong to each other. We will open and support space for peace and reconciliation as a “Beloved Community."
